STAR Blues Darcy Vescio and Breann Moody have earned selection in the 2021 AFLW All-Australian team.

Added to the leadership group this season, Vescio has received her second All-Australian nod after finishing the season as the leading goal-kicker in the competition for the second time in her career.

Her 16 goals this season saw her breaking the AFLW record for most majors in a season, including a stellar haul of five goals in Round 8 against the Suns.

The 27-year-old also kicked multiple goals in five of her last six games as truly led from the front in a year in which she returned to the Blues’ leadership group.

Breann Moody took her game to a new level in 2021 and in doing so has made her first All-Australian team.

Moody has elevated herself to one of the elite rucks of the competition, surpassing all her counterparts in marks, third in disposals and fourth in hit-outs to recapture the form that saw her become a Best and Fairest winner in 2018.

Her athleticism right across the ground was also a standout as she simply got better as the season progressed, recoding more 20 hit outs in each of the final four games.

Coach Daniel Harford said that both players were truly deserving of their selection in the All-Australian side.

“It is a privilege to coach both Darcy and Breann who are stars in their own right, they should be proud of this achievement,” Harford said.

“These girls have set the standard at training and on gameday through sheer hard work and it’s amazing to see that work recognised with such a high honour.”

“We are sure they’ve made Carlton members and supporters proud and we’re confident they can help lead the Club to team success,” Harford said.
