CARLTON has bolstered its forward firepower with three changes for Saturday’s clash with Hawthorn.

The Blues’ two inclusions come in the form of Tom De Koning and Jack Silvagni, with the former to play his first game of the 2021 season.

Michael Gibbons has also been elevated to the starting 22 after being activated early as the medical sub last weekend against Melbourne.

After a breakthrough campaign last year, De Koning’s start to this season was delayed with a back injury sustained in pre-season. However, with two VFL games under his belt, he will partner with Marc Pittonet in the ruck.

It’s expected that De Koning will provide some forward relief alongside fellow inclusion Silvagni, who is available for selection after adhering to the AFL’s 12-day protocol.

De Koning takes the place of Levi Casboult, who has been managed after his 150th game last weekend. David Cuningham is injured, while first-year Blue Luke Parks has been omitted.

Casboult has been named as one of the four emergencies for Saturday's clash, alongside Josh Honey, Matthew Kennedy and Jack Newnes: the Blues will name their medical sub an hour before the game.

Lachie Plowman will play his 100th game for Carlton since arriving at the Club on the eve of the 2016 season.

The player adjudged the best on ground in Saturday’s match will be awarded the David Parkin Medal: the Round 10 clash begins at 1:45pm.
