FOUR points in the bag and on to the next.

With the potential challenge of Buddy Franklin inside 50 this Sunday, Jacob Weitering has his focus squarely on Carlton’s Round 11 clash with Sydney.

Speaking on 3AW Sportsday on Monday afternoon, the reigning Blues best and fairest outlined his preparation for the clash.

“No celebrating today. It was a fair bit of reviewing. It was nice to get the win obviously on the weekend, but it was a messy game and plenty to review and we'll probably look forward to this week [on Tuesday],” Weitering said.

“Looking at the match, we've got a legend of the game to play against this week. He's coming off a nice game, so it will be an interesting one for sure.”

Looking forward to a potential Weitering-Franklin match up, the defender highlighted speed as a key challenge for the clash.

“Obviously he’s terrific when he's on the run, he's moving and I'm not the fastest defender going around so keeping him in a contest is certainly going to be a priority,” he said.

“We're definitely looking forward to the match up and hopefully we can put on a show for the fans.”

With some movement in the defensive mix, Weitering is pleased to see fellow Blue Zac Williams and co-captain Sam Docherty flourishing early in adjusted roles.

Pushing up the ground in recent weeks to feature on the wing, Docherty has brought a defensive mindset into the current midfield mix, with Williams reaping the rewards of his own positional adjustment.

“it's been a good move. It's a bit of a shame initially to lose ‘Doc;, being alongside him for a few years now. But his transition has been flawless as well,” he said.

“He's moved into a wing position. He's got that defensive aspect in his game, but his two-way running ability and his help in our defensive system has been awesome.

“It’s given Zac Williams a chance to, I guess, show us his strengths and just go out, get the ball and use it really well, which he’s doing.”
