OVERVIEW

One year in Navy Blue down, a bright future ahead.

Daisy Walker was the second Blue selected by Carlton in the 2020 NAB AFL Women's Draft, with the young defender selected at pick No.28 alongside Mimi Hill and Winnie Laing.

Walker played six games in 2021 after debuting against St Kilda in Round 3, before backing that up with a VFLW campaign following the conclusion of the AFLW season.

Stepping into a defensive role, Walker took strides in her development this year to get comfortable at the senior level.

BEST PERFORMANCE

In just her second game at AFLW level, Walker looked confident when the Blues faced the Tigers in Round 4.

Collecting eight disposals and four intercepts across the back line, Walker was impactful in quelling Richmond's attack.

Walker also showed a greater contested side to her game at IKON Park, recording four tackles to impact the five-point victory.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

It's hard to go past a debut as a season highlight, particularly when it coincided with the first win of the season.

Gab Pound had the honour of presenting Walker with her guernsey at Moorabbin in Round 3, imparting her defensive wisdom on the youngster.
