OVERVIEW

2021 marked another year in Navy Blue down for inaugural Blue and fan-favourite Natalie Plane.

Adding depth and versatility to her role in her fifth year at the senior level, Plane continued her reliability in the backline while also spending time up forward and on the wing in 2021.

Playing seven games for the season, Plane appeared in the competition's first ever AFLW Indigenous Round as a proud Kamilaroi woman.

One of the squad's brightest personalities, here is the year that was for fan-favourite Natalie Plane.

BEST PERFORMANCE

One of many Blues to enjoy standout performances at Metricon Stadium in Round 8, Plane was everywhere in the 60-point victory over the Suns.

Adding a new string to her bow in 2021, Plane made an impact up forward in the win away from home: she scored two goals to contribute to Carlton's record-breaking score line.

Plane finished the afternoon with 14 disposals, five score involvements and five intercepts to make it her most complete performance of the year.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

The goal is good, the celebration is better.

Launching one from the 50 line against the Suns, Plane kicked true to notch one of the Blues' 14 goals for the afternoon.

What came next was one of the best celebrations of the season - describing the Plane celebration simply does not do it justice, so we'll let the video do the talking.
