MAKE it 27.

Eddie Betts' stunning one-handed take and snap has received a Round 11 Rebel Goal of the Year nomination.

For the 27th time in his career, and the second time in a month, Betts' goal has been adjudged as one of the best three from the weekend's action.

As Carlton burst out of the blocks at the SCG, Betts work at ground level was typical of someone who has mastered the small forward craft as good as anyone in the history of the game.

Getting to the drop of the ball inside 50, Betts - in one fell swoop - gathered with his right hand, turned towards the boundary line and snapped truly from the pocket.

As one former Channel 7 commentator would say, it was classical Eddie Betts.

The champion small forward very nearly produced a carbon copy in the third term, with his snap from same pocket taking the most unfortunate of bounces on the goal line and clipping the back of the goal post.
