ZAC Fisher could make his Navy Blue return this weekend.

The crafty forward has been on the sidelines since Round 2, where an ankle injury resulted in surgery for the 22-year-old.

With Carlton readying themselves for a clash at AFL level with West Coast this weekend, Director of High Performance Andrew Russell confirmed Fisher would be in action at some level this weekend.

“Zac has had a really good block the last three weeks,” Russell said.

“He looks good, he is available to play this week which is great.”

The Blues’ extended squad will be announced on Thursday night for Sunday’s game with the Eagles, while the VFL side is currently scheduled to play Williamstown at Downer Oval on the same day.

One player who won’t be available is Michael Gibbons, who was subbed out of the weekend’s loss to Sydney in the third term.

With the bye to come next week, Russell said Gibbons could be available for the Club’s Round 14 clash with Greater Western Sydney.

“He’s got a low-grade hamstring strain: he definitely won’t be available this week,” he said.

“He’ll rest, then we’ll get him going and he will be a test to play leading into the GWS game.”

Paddy Dow returned from hamstring tightness in a reserves scratch match in Sydney on the weekend, with the midfielder available for selection for Round 12.
