REBOUNDING defender Brooke Vickers is now in Navy Blue.

A premiership player for the Oakleigh Chargers, Vickers was selected with pick No.23 in the 2021 NAB AFLW Draft.

Vickers has outstanding attributes, playing as a utility for the Chargers and Vic Metro.

It was her run and long kicking where Vickers did most damage, backing in her skills to maximum effect as an offensive outlet.

GM of Women’s Football Brett Munro said the Blues were delighted to welcome Vickers with their selection in the second round.

“Brooke is consistent, runs outstanding patterns and her attack on the footy is elite,” Munro said.

“She been so committed to her football, and the results have been on display, particularly in the last 12 months. She’s a great user of the football and someone who was crucial to the Oakleigh Chargers’ NAB League success.

“She also represented Vic Metro at the under-19 championships and Port Melbourne in the VFLW competition, where she more than held her own.

“She gets to the right spots as a defender and she can also get involved in the attacking phase, which is so important in the modern game. We’re looking forward to seeing what she can produce in the Navy Blue.”
