AFLW clubs: Carlton
Carlton debut: Round 1, 2020
Recruited from: Western Bulldogs VFLW (VIC)

Carlton turned to the x-factor of Vaomua Laloifi with selection No.52 in the 2019 NAB AFL Women’s Draft. Outstanding in the air, Laloifi consistently makes an impact in the one-on-one contest and is just as likely to influence with a spoil as she is to intercept mark. Often playing as the spare defender down back, Laloifi was instrumental in the Blues’ ability to shut down opposition forwards and quickly transition from defence to attack. A willingness to ‘get-and-go’ drove a free-flowing play from the backline and became an exciting feature of her game. It was in the back half of the 2022’s summer season that we saw Laloifi find career best form, with the defender averaging around 15 disposals and three marks per game in the second half of the campaign. Laloifi will definitely want to translate her strong finish into the upcoming season.

Draft history: 2019 NAB AFLW Draft 3rd round selection, No.52 overall.
