CARLTON defender Brooke Vernon will be sidelined for the next 12 days under the competition’s concussion protocol guidelines. 

Vernon was taken from the field during Carlton’s VFLW game against Essendon after she was tackled during the third quarter.

The young Blue was taken to hospital to be assessed for concussion and has since been released. 

Brooke Vickers has also made progress in her return from injury. 

Vickers suffered a syndesmosis injury in the Blues’ Round 5 game against the Crows and will make a return to full training in the coming weeks. 

Carlton will look to continue its winning ways this Sunday when hosting Gold Coast at IKON Park in its final home game of the home-and-away season.
