AFL Senior Coach Michael Voss has confirmed that Caleb Marchbank will make his return to action this weekend.

After over 12 months on the sidelines, Marchbank will run out with the Carlton Reserves in Saturday night’s clash with Frankston.

It marks a significant milestone for Marchbank in his comeback from a knee injury sustained in April last year.

With a consistent block of training under his belt, the key defender will feature in his long-awaited return in the Round 7 VFL encounter on slightly managed minutes.

Speaking to media, Voss said all at the Club were excited to see Marchbank back doing his thing this weekend.

“He’ll play VFL on the weekend. It’s a great news story,” Voss said.

“He’s slowly been building his work, and he’s got a fair body of work now. It’s pleasing that he’ll be playing VFL.

“We don’t have a criteria outside of clearly spending a couple of weeks to get himself back to match fitness: that’s the important thing.

“He hasn’t played a lot of footy in recent times, but we’ll let his fitness and his form determine when that’ll be: there’s no time frame.

“We haven’t seen him for a while, but I’ve been impressed with what we’ve seen throughout training. He has done a fair bit of training… he should go into this game feeling pretty confident.”

Don't miss out on a special family offer for this weekend's AFL game.
