CARLTON has named a number of fresh faces among some experienced heads in its 26-man squad for the final hitout of the 2023 pre-season.

With the likes of Ollie Hollands, Lachie Cowan and Alex Cincotta reprising their roles from last week's game against Collingwood, the Blues could also see Jaxon Binns get his first taste of senior action on Friday night.

After showing impressive signs in the midfield throughout last week’s VFL practice match, Binns has been included this week alongside Jack Carroll and Paddy Dow.

They’ve been joined in the line-up by Marc Pittonet in his first senior contest since post-season knee surgery, as well as Sam Durdin, who was selected by the Blues in last year’s mid-season draft.

Matthew Owies has also been selected after missing last week’s action due to hamstring tightness.

It’ll be the final game for the senior-listed Blues leading into their season opener in a fortnight’s time, with some senior players to miss tomorrow night with the focus on the home-and-away season.

Patrick Cripps and Harry McKay will both be rested ahead of Round 1.

Mitch McGovern will continue to train fully to be available to selection in Round 1, as will Jack Martin.

David Cuningham has begun rehabilitation on his shoulder with a timeline on the availability to be known early in the season, while Caleb Marchbank experienced a minor calf injury this week so has not made the trip to Sydney.
