MATTHEW Cottrell will return to Carlton’s team this weekend.
After missing the win over Hawthorn due to suspension, Cottrell has been recalled to the Blues’ line-up for the trip west.
The running man will be a key asset for the Blues across half-forward and the wing on the wide expanses of Optus Stadium.
Cottrell comes into the side in place of Ed Curnow, who has been omitted.
Tom De Koning didn’t pass his fitness test on Friday and, as a result, has been withdrawn from the squad.
He has been replaced by Jesse Motlop, who will be an emergency alongside Lachie Cowan, Curnow and George Hewett. The team’s sub will be announced an hour before the bounce.
