AFTER five seasons on AFL lists, former Tiger and Eagle Patrick Naish will join the Carlton Reserves side in 2024.

Naish brings elite-level experience to the side, playing nine senior games for the Tigers before more recently joining the Eagles in 2022. The 24-year-old appeared in 11 matches for the West Coast Eagles where he averaged over 16 disposals.

Naish is a talented midfielder and has great outside run, providing an outlet for his team on the wing with his strong footballing IQ to be a great asset for an emerging Carlton Reserves list.

The former father-son selection to Richmond (his dad Chris played over 100 games for the Tigers in the 1990s) returns to the northern suburbs, having previously represented the Northern Knights before his AFL career began.

Carlton VFL Coach Luke Power said Naish’s experience at the elite level will bring helpful guidance to the younger players in the squad.

“The acquisition of Patty is great for the Club. Patty brings an understanding of what a successful environment looks like and will bring plenty of energy to the group,” Power said.

On-field he has the versatility to cover several positions including the midfield where he has the run and ball use to break lines.

“I was fortunate to coach Patty when he was younger, and he will bring some great attributes on and off the field for us.

“We are really excited to welcome him into the Club and can't wait to see what he can produce in 2024.”
