CARLTON has made a trio of changes to its line-up to take on Sydney for Marn Grook at the SCG.
It was confirmed that a throat injury would sideline Tom De Koning for the Sir Doug Nicholls Round encounter, while Blake Acres (shoulder) and Lachie Cowan (hamstring) were confirmed outs.
Marc Pittonet has been recalled for his first game of the campaign as a direct swap for De Koning, with Pittonet to go head-to-head against Sydney veteran Brodie Grundy.
Matt Carroll returns for his fifth game after missing last weekend’s win over St Kilda, taking up a place in the Blues’ backline alongside Jordan Boyd, who has been named for his second game of the season.
The Blues have named Boyd and Carroll on the interchange alongside Francis Evans, Will White and Lewis Young, with the Blues to name their sub an hour before the bounce. Lucas Camporeale, Sam Docherty and Hudson O'Keeffe have been named as emergencies.
The Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash will mark Young’s 50th in Navy Blue after his arrival at IKON Park at the end of 2021 following a trade from the Western Bulldogs, with the key defender filling a valuable utility role at multiple times throughout 2025.
Similarly, the game will see Jesse Motlop’s half century in Navy Blue, coming in a special round for the small forward.
The Blues’ Marn Grook at the SCG clash with the Swans kicks off from 7:40pm.
