HARRIET Cordner, Erone Fitzpatrick and Dayna Finn had topped off their consistent season with a selection into the 2025 All-Australian squad.
It is Cordner’s third nomination (2021 and 2024) plus Fitzpatrick and Finn’s first nomination, with all three looking for their maiden selections in the final team when announced in Grand Final week.
Not missing a match since moving to across to Carlton at the start of 2023, Cordner is a strong and tough defender known for her stellar intercept ability, leading the competition for marks and intercept possessions.
Spending 99.8 per cent time on ground (the most of any player in the league), the ultra-reliable Cordner is the epitome of consistency, resilience and professionalism.
Cordner is a true cornerstone of the Blues’ backline, leading on the last line as a true example of a team player. Ranked No.1 at Carlton for one percenters, Cordner - who has lost just four one-on-one contests this season - re-signed to remain at the Blues earlier this year.
Arrived at the Blues in 2023 from County Mayo in Ireland, Finn has gone from five games in her first season to not missing a match in both 2024 and 2025.
Named in Carlton’s best players regularly through the season, the 24-year-old has been a consistent performer on the wing, producing career-best numbers this season.
Averaging just shy of 23 disposals per game, Finn took 66 marks for the season – one behind teammate Cordner - and also recorded the most contested possessions at Carlton, earning her reputation as one of the competition’s big improvers.
Finn’s impressive breakaway power in the midfield was on show in Round 11 where the midfielder collected 31 disposals, laid nine tackles and scored a goal.
Returning from an ACL injury which ruled her out for the entirety of the 2024 season, Fitzpatrick has been a pivotal part to Carlton’s game style this season, with her dazzling speed a key standout of her game.
A consistent figure this year, Fitzpatrick has played every match this season, averaging 17 disposals and leading the Blues for score involvements while ranking No.2 at the Club for metres gained - only behind Finn.
Affectionately known as ‘Ronnie’, her most impressive display on show against last year’s Grand Finalists Brisbane in Round 3. On that night, Fitzpatrick added two goals to a performance which also included 18 disposals and eight tackles.
The team will be announced on Friday 24 November at the W Awards.
