“IT’S BEING explosive, being powerful. On the field - attacking the game, playing dynamic and an exciting brand of footy.”

Ashton Moir is beaming with excitement about the possibility of what a new-look forward line represents for the Blues in 2026.

Returning on day one of pre-season, Moir - who is approaching his third season in Navy Blue - was one of a number of first-to-four-year players well and truly put through their paces at IKON Park.

They weren’t alone, with a number of senior Blues such as Nic Newman, Adam Saad and Marc Pittonet joining them on Royal Parade.

For Moir, building on the positive personal momentum of the previous campaign is paramount.

“I’m really pumped to get to work, hopefully I can take that momentum into this year - it all starts with your preparation and working hard,” Moir said.

“I’ve met a few of the lads, I feel like we’re going to be a really close forward line. Big ‘Chop’, big Reidy coming in is a ripper, Benny Ainsworth plus the Sydney lads, I’m keen to get them in.

“Hopefully I can nail down a spot.”

Moir highlighted the efforts of old friends - and now housemates - Ben and Lucas Camporeale for what they were able to produce on day one, before providing some insight into the aftermath of a gruelling first session.

Moir and the Camporeale brothers live with Harry Charleson and Billy Wilson, and the 2025 Telstra Rising Star nominee said he expected talking to be at a minimum on Monday night - with one exception

“Today has been big. We’ll probably talk when Love Island is on… we’ll be silent until then.

“Big episode. There’s a big thing going on with Yana at the moment, keen to see what’s going on with Lacey and Jotham. That’s the talking point.

“Sorry, got distracted. I love Love Island.”
