THE Carlton Football Club is excited to welcome emerging star Brooke Boileau after completing a series of trades in the closing stages of the 2025 AFLW Trade Period.
The Blues welcomed the rising talent after completing three trades in the closing minutes of the trade deadline.
The first deal saw the Club acquire a future second pick (tied to Fremantle) and future third from the Melbourne, in exchange for Mia Austin who joined the Demons.
The Blues then used those picks as a cornerstone of a three-way trade that saw Boileau arrive at IKON Park while Brisbane receive the future second (tied to Fremantle) and future second (tied to Adelaide) and the Crows acquire pick No.17 from the Lions and the future third (tied to Melbourne).
Boileau, named in the AFLPA 22-under-22 in 2025, it is a great coup for the Club with the energetic and reliable forward in dashing form across the board.
Selected with Adelaide's first draft pick in 2023, the 20-year-old arrives at Carlton with 18 games under her belt, playing every game this season.
Known for her powerful acceleration and work rate, Boileau earned a rising star nomination in Round 7, just a week after former SANFL teammate and new Blue’s teammate Poppy Scholz was named. Boileau was instrumental collecting 17 disposals,11 of which were contested and laid six tackles against Sydney.
Before being drafted at the end of 2023, Boileau was already widely regarded in South Australia, awarded South Adelaide’s Coaches Award, as well as being named in the 2023 SANFLW Team of the Year and named in the under-18 All-Australian team.
Head of AFLW Ash Naulty said Boileau is the type of person and player you want at your Club.
“At just 20 years of age, Brooke has already shown so much professionalism and knows the work needed to excel at the highest level,” Naulty said.
“Coming into just her second season, we have seen so much potential. Brooke has shown her ability to take the learnings and strategy from training and put it on field in full display, which is a pivotal skill.
“The game plan we have here, fast-paced and exciting, will really highlight her natural speed and agility to run and weave through contests.
“We are thrilled that she wants to wear the Navy Blue in 2026 and cannot wait to welcome her down to IKON Park."
Austin departs IKON Park after four seasons, and 30 games in the Navy Blue.
Also as the final deal of the trade period, the Blues also farewelled Maddison Torpey, in exchange for a future fifth-round pick from North Melbourne.
“Mia has been a great teammate and has shown great level of resilience across the past few years," Naulty said.
“Maddison was also a team-first player at the Club and we wish both players all the best for their next chapter in their careers.”
