THE CARLTON Reserves have locked in their final team of 23 for Saturday night’s trip to the Apple Isle.
Becoming the first AFL-aligned club to take on Tasmania in its return to the VFL competition, the Blues have made a number of changes to the team which triumphed over Collingwood last weekend.
From an AFL-listed perspective, Wade Derksen returns to the fold after he was a late out for the VFL win over the Pies.
He’s joined by a number of VFL-listed names, with the Blues confirming three debutants.
Liam Farrar will make his VFL debut, with the athletic former Northern Knight getting his chance after also spending time at IKON Park with the Carlton College of Sport.
He’s joined by Jed Rule and Jaiden Magor making their club debuts, after time with Box Hill and Sydney respectively in the VFL competition.
Rounding out the inclusions are Darcy Hogg, Archie Stevens, Cooper Vickery and Logan Prout.
Despite initially being named in the VFL side, all three AFL emergencies - Matthew Cottrell, Hudson O’Keeffe and Flynn Young - won’t feature, having made the trip to Perth for the AFL side’s clash with Fremantle.
In a vastly changed line-up, the Blues will look to lean on the experience of George Hewett, Adam Saad and Blake Acres, while the likes of Billy Wilson, Harry Charleson and Jack Ison will look to continue their strong early-season form for the VFL Blues.
The game will kick off from 7:10pm and will be broadcast live on 7plus as well as the AFL app and website.
