Fish and Cripps shine in AFLX

Cripps dominates AFLX Patrick Cripps was powerful up forward taking out the AFLX Super Boot award for most points scored.

THE ‘one-two’ punch of Patrick Cripps and Zac Fisher played a big part in Rampage’s AFLX victory last night.

Cripps shone in front of goal while Fisher showed his trademark zip against some of the game’s very best at Marvel Stadium.

Whether it was via a place kick or shrugging off players at will, Cripps — who was the dominant player on the night — took home the Superboot as the leading scorer over the course of the night.

With 96 points, he comfortably outscored Nat Fyfe, who ran next best with 62 points.

And Fisher produced much more than a supporting cameo, belying his young age to run rings around senior opposition.

The third-youngest player to feature last night showed the signs which had Carlton fans so excited about the future of ‘the Slippery Fish’ last year.

Rampage ultimately emerged victorious after a 84-67 win in the AFLX Grand Final against Fyfe’s Flyers.

Carlton returns to action on Thursday 28 February, when it hosts Essendon in the first game of the JLT Community Series at Ikon Park (6:40pm).
