CARLTON has received a big boost for its clash with St Kilda, with both David Cuningham and Lachie Plowman named to make their returns this weekend.

After missing last weekend’s clash with the Giants, Cuningham and Plowman return as two of four inclusions for the Round 10 clash with the Saints. The duo have been named alongside fellow returnee Matthew Kennedy on the bench, with Kade Simpson named in the team last night.

Plowman missed last week’s clash with the Giants after sustaining a cheekbone fracture against Collingwood in Round 8, spending the week on the sidelines recovering from surgery.

The persistent defender is a welcome inclusion alongside veteran Kade Simpson, who will play his first game in over a month.

But it’s not only the Blues’ defence getting the boost, with the midfield welcoming two additions for Sunday’s clash with the Saints.

The returns of Cuningham and Kennedy will be much-welcomed by Bluebaggers, with Brendon Bolton confirming earlier on Friday that Kennedy would receive his chance.

Kennedy has been in the selection mix for the past month, averaging 22 disposals (14 contested), nine clearances and four tackles in his three VFL showings this year.

Carlton supporters will also be pleased to see the return of David Cuningham to the side after missing last week’s hit out through general soreness.

The emerging speedster showed his talent against Collingwood with 23 disposals and two goals, and he looms as a key addition when it comes to Carlton’s midfield-forward connection against the Saints.
