CARLTON forward Jack Silvagni has been charged with careless contact with an umpire by the Match Review Officer following Saturday’s game against Gold Coast.

The incident occurred 28 minutes into the third quarter, when Silvagni made contact with umpire Nick Foot at the centre bounce.

The 21-year-old has been handed a $1,500 fine, which can be reduced to $1,000 with an early plea.

He will be free to play when the Blues take on the Crows this Saturday at the MCG.

The Club has until 11am tomorrow to respond to the charge.
