THE 2027 fixture is taking shape.
With the full version from the AFL due to be released later this week, two games have already been confirmed for the Blues in the opening month of the season.
The Round 1 schedule was announced on Tuesday afternoon, one day after the fifth instalment of Gather Round was locked in.
Taking on two opponents they know very well, here's what we know so far.
Round 1 v Richmond (A)
Saturday 20 March, 12:35pm AEDT, MCG
CARLTON'S 2027 season will begin with Saturday afternoon footy against Richmond at the MCG.
It is the traditional rival in the first round of the season, with a different feel to what footy fans have experienced most years since 2008.
Gather Round v Melbourne
Saturday 10 April, 1:05pm ACST, Adelaide Oval
RUN it back.
Carlton learned on Monday morning that its Gather Round opponent in 2027 will be against Melbourne.
Taking on the team who they triumphed against in the wildcard final in 2026, it will be the first time the Blues have played against Victorian opposition in the fifth footy festival in Adelaide.
