Captain Carlton was part of a huge crowd that attended the charity house auction at VicUrban’s Aurora development at Epping North on Saturday. Supported by Orbit Homes and the Carlton Football Club the auction raised the highest amount so far for an Orbit home in The Northern Hospital charity auction.

VicUrban, Orbit Homes and their subbies and suppliers delivered one of the largest single donations to The Northern Hospital through a no reserve auction of a house and land package. This generous donation was supported by the Carlton Football Club through promotions and player visits to the home and The Northern Hospital as well as appearances by Captain Carlton at open for inspections and on auction day.

The successful bid was $392,000 with the money raised all going to The Northern Hospital.

VicUrban General Manager, Kirsten Rappolt was on hand to congratulate the successful purchasers on their new luxury four bedroom Orbit home at VicUrban.

“Community support has been terrific here today and a real turnout for The Northern Hospital,” she said.

Ms Rappolt thanked the local Aurora crowd, which was entertained by Captain Carlton prior to the auction, as well as the tradespeople and suppliers who donated their time, energy and resources to the project.

“Today is an example of how the building industry can join forces and make a difference for one of our community’s greatest assets, The Northern Hospital,” Ms Rappolt said.

Orbit Homes is a long-time sponsor of the Carlton Football Club and their Managing Director Paul Millson was delighted the Carlton Football Club had become involved in 2008 providing additional promotional support for this important community project.

“Orbit has been delighted to join with VicUrban in supporting The Northern Hospital through our charity auction. The home auctioned today is one of our largest family homes. Added to its luxury design is its 6-Star energy rating, showing that a spacious family home can still be environmentally friendly if designed correctly,” Paul said.

“The Carlton Football Club has provided wonderful support to this project including having players visit the house and patients at The Northern Hospital as part of their overall support to this community project. The charity auction being an environmentally friendly home compliments the Club’s environmentally friendly education program and Carlton’s desire to become the greenest club in the AFL.

I would also like to thank the generosity of the subbies and suppliers who have donated their time and materials to help raise such a great result,” Paul added.
