THE CARLTON Football Club looks forward to the opportunity announced by the AFL today that will see the Blues enter a hub on the Gold Coast for at least the next fortnight.

The initial fixtures announced today will see Carlton take on the Bulldogs next Sunday at Metricon Stadium before facing the Power on July 19 at the Gabba.

There is the possibility that the Club will travel to another state once players and staff have completed this initial 14-day quarantine period in Queensland.

Carlton CEO Cain Liddle wrote to members in an email today, revealing the playing group was determined to make the most of the challenge before them.

“From day one since this was a possibility, our entire football club has embraced the concept and has viewed this as a real opportunity for us”, Liddle said.

“We have a tight-knit playing group, so the opportunity to get away together, make those connections even stronger and use this upcoming period to do everything possible to continue to improve our on-field performance is something our players are genuinely excited about.

“Obviously we would love nothing more to be playing at home, in front of the Carlton faithful however we understand this season ultimately requires us and the other 17 clubs to do whatever is necessary to safely continue the competition.”

The Club expects to be in a position to communicate ticketing information to its Queensland members early next week.
