Details: Gabba, Sunday 19 July, 1:05pm (AEST)
Broadcast: Fox Footy, Kayo, AFL App
Live updates: Twitter, Instagram and the Carlton App

The game in focus:

Coming off a big win against the Western Bulldogs, Carlton will have the chance to back it up against the ultimate competitor: ladder leaders Port Adelaide.

Port Adelaide have adjusted well to playing on neutral grounds, winning four out of five of their last games: the last four have coming in Queensland.

The Blues will be hoping to have kickstarted a similar run to Port, having started their run well at Metricon Stadium last week.

It’ll be a significant test against sustainable brand of the Power, which ranks second in both points scored and points concede so far in 2020.

The Blues will take some heart from the fact that of Port's five games in Queensland in 2020, their four wins have come at Carrara: their one loss was at the Gabba against Brisbane in Round 5.

Last time we met:

Plenty has changed in the football landscape since these two last sides met.

It’s been well over a year since the Blues took on the Power, where a very different Blues side fell by 16 points.

Patrick Cripps was the highlight of the evening with a three-vote performance, while Harry McKay and Mitch McGovern kicked two goals each at a wet Adelaide Oval.

Just 13 of the 22 which featured in that game will run out for the Blues on Sunday.

Blue focus:

The two best pack marks in the AFL at either end of the ground will be compelling.

Port’s Charlie Dixon is sitting third in the race for the Coleman Medal and first for contested marks among the competition, followed closely by Levi Casboult.

With Carlton’s big men standing tall last week, it’s a chance to prove themselves against the best in the competition: at both ends of the Gabba.

Get excited about:

Walsh and Rozee, Rozee and Walsh.

The one and two from last year’s Rising Star will feature for their respective sides at the Gabba, with Rozee the only reason Walsh was denied a perfect score by the judges.

Both have proven to be vital to their respective team’s success since joining their clubs last year, and Sunday will be no different.
