The Carlton Football Club said farewell to a life-long supporter and long-time volunteer, Ernest (Ernie) Dummett, who passed away on June 18th, aged 83.

Dummett assisted the Club for over 30 years and his face was known by many who came to Carlton’s home games at Princes Park where he was part of the fundraising team on match days.

“For many years Football Clubs relied heavily on the outstanding work of volunteers and people like Ernie certainly made an enormous contribution to Carlton. While clubs have become more professional and rely less on the work of volunteers we will always remember the work that Ernie and fellow volunteers from the fundraising team did for this Club,” said Carlton President Stephen Kernahan.

“It is important that we acknowledge the role played by everyone involved with the Club. We all know the work of the players and coaches and it is vital we recognize others for their support of Carlton,” added Kernahan.

The Carlton Football Club extends its condolences to the family.
