OVERVIEW
The player affectionately known as ‘Skittles’ arrived at the Blues at the end of last year, after being selected by Carlton with pick 28 in the National Draft.

Although the 19-year-old is still yet to debut for the senior side, he played consistently in the VFL for Carlton’s affiliate team, the Northern Blues.

Viojo-Rainbow averaged just over 18 disposals per game and kicked five goals in his first season.

In Round 17 against Collingwood, playing on the big stage of the MCG, Viojo-Rainbow kicked a wonderful running goal from 50 metres out – a real highlight!

HE SAID
“You get to play the sport you love on a daily basis with the best players from around the country. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I have some great mentors at Carlton, players who have been through it all and know what it takes. To be able to learn from them is pretty much all you can ask for as a first-year player.”

- Viojo-Rainbow talking to Star Weekly about his experience as a first-year player – July 14, 2015.

THEY SAID
“'Rainbow' played off half-back and a little bit on the wing. He used the ball reasonably well and hit some targets going inside 50, which set up a couple of scoring opportunities for us. We’re really trying to work on the defensive side of his game, but he really took a step forward today and each week he’s improving."

- Northern Blues coach Luke Webster talking about Viojo-Rainbow’s performance in a VFL practice match at Ikon Park on Good Friday.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
In Round 13 against the Tigers at Preston City Oval Viojo-Rainbow added a highlight to his reel. The 19-year-old span his way out of trouble close to the boundary line, then kicked a terrific goal on the run from 30m out.
