Carlton and Skills Victoria hosted a luncheon last week with a number of key corporate partners of the Club. The special guest was the Victorian Minister for Higher Education and Skills, The Hon Peter Hall.
Carlton President Stephen Kernahan and CEO Greg Swann were the Carlton Football Club hosts of this informal luncheon that provided the Minister with the opportunity to reinforce the important role Skills Victoria has in assisting all businesses and individuals to upgrade skills to improve the value of the workforce.
The Carlton Football Club not only promotes the messages of Skills Victoria but lives the messages through the players, coaches and staff with many involved in courses and training to improve their skills and development.
Having been involved through the Carlton Football Club and his own business, Stephen Kernahan said Skills Victoria plays an important role in helping to navigate the training system and negotiate training which is customized to you’re a particular business and individual.
“We all know the important role training has in the football business on the field and we are well aware of the benefits off the field as well. TAFE and training is a great investment in your business,” Kernahan said following the luncheon.
While it was a business luncheon for the Minister, it was also a great opportunity to reminisce about the Carlton Football Club where he played 36 games between 1971 and 1974.
