BOYHOOD Bluebagger Levi Casboult has been awarded Life Membership of the Carlton Football Club.

Arriving at Ikon Park via the 2010 rookie draft, Casboult’s journey in the Navy Blue has been epitomised by perseverance, commitment and hard work.

Renowned across the competition for his marking ability, which now sits among the game’s elite, the 31-year-old has become a revered member of the Blues’ forward line.

Having made 141 senior appearances for the Club he grew up supporting, Casboult will strive to reach the 150-game milestone this year.

Casboult said he was proud to receive one of the Club’s highest individual honours.

“Carlton has been really good to me for over a decade now, to receive Life Membership of this football club is something I will cherish forever,” Casboult said.

“My football journey has had its fair share of ups and downs but I would not have had it any other way. This club has been a massive part of my life and I am grateful to each and every person here who has helped me during my career so far.

“I also want to thank my family. They have sacrificed a lot for me and my career, this achievement is as much theirs as it is mine.”

Carlton President Mark LoGiudice said the awarding of the Life Membership was a reflection of Casboult’s on-field contribution in the No.41, as well as his character and Carlton First mentality off it.

“Being awarded Life Membership is an honourable achievement and one which Levi is thoroughly deserving of,” LoGiudice said.

“It serves as recognition for his contribution to the Club, which importantly encompasses both his efforts on the field as well as his endeavours to live by The Carlton Way, using his experience as a player and qualities as a person to support those around him.

“Levi is a true Blue who is held in very high regard at our football club and is one of the most beloved players among the Carlton faithful.

“He has worked incredibly hard over the course of his career to become an important player for Carlton and he is truly deserving of this honour as he enters his 11th year at Ikon Park.”

Players become eligible for Carlton Life Membership when they play 200 games for the Club or are on the playing list for 10 years and have played 100 games.
