CARLTON Director of High Performance Andrew Russell has confirmed Charlie Curnow will return in the VFL on the weekend.

In what will be the key forward’s first game in over two years, Curnow - should he get through training on Thursday - will have completed the necessary loads to make his long-awaited comeback this Sunday at Ikon Park.

Likely to play on managed minutes, it will be Curnow’s first outing since his last hitout in July 2019.

“Charlie had a great week last week,” Russell said.

“It’s been well reported that he did a big session last Thursday and he recovered really well from that.

“He trained today, he moved well. He’ll train Thursday and play this week at VFL level, which is really exciting for all of us.”

It was confirmed earlier today that the VFL fixture against Collingwood would kick off at 11:05am from IKON Park, with tickets available here.

The game will also be streamed live on Kayo.
