DOUBLE draftee debut delight.

Lachie Cowan and Ollie Hollands will make their respective AFL debuts on Thursday night when Carlton clashes with Richmond in the season opener.

Informed in front of the playing group, it’s a rapid rise for the drafted duo who arrived in late November last year to the club they both supported growing up.

Both featured for the Blues throughout their pre-season practice matches, with Hollands hitting the scoreboard against Collingwood at IKON Park while Cowan impressed with his physicality and application against Sydney in Blacktown.

Hollands was selected with Carlton’s first pick (No.11) in last year’s 2022 NAB AFL Draft, having starred for the Murray Bushrangers and Vic Country in the wing position.

It was the following night where Cowan became a Blue, when Carlton struck a live trade and offloaded a future second-round draft selection to select the Tasmanian captain.

The news was broken by the players’ respective dads, who got the ring in from AFL Michael Voss during the team meeting to inform their sons of what was to come in three nights.

Unsurprisingly, the debut of Cowan was met with a resounding ‘Moo!’ by his fellow teammates. Bring on Thursday night.
