TAKING on the Northern Territory Thunder in their Round 6 clash, the Blues fell short against the league's only undefeated side.

Ultimately going down by six straight goals, Carlton’s inability to hit the scoreboard and make the most of its opportunities up forward proved costly.

Senior VFLW coach Shannon McFerran reviews the performances of a number of AFLW-listed players from the weekend’s game.

Shae Audley
Stats:
12 disposals, 13 tackles
From the coach:
Shae’s leadership and voice out on the field is so valuable to the team and she demonstrated this again on the weekend. She’s a real presence on the ground and her tackling, coupled with her attack on the ball, always make her a dangerous player.

Reni Hicks
Stats: 6 disposals, 5 tackles
From the coach:
Reni performed well today. She continues to attack the football and her endeavour has been unquestionable. Reni will continue to develop her run and carry off the half-back line throughout the VFLW season.

Jess Hosking
Stats: 16 disposals, 13 kicks
From the coach:
Jess gave us plenty of run through the midfield and linked up well with the other onballers. Her work rate is increasing each game and she has shown some real consistency in her matches since the start of the season.

Sophie Li
Stats: 19 disposals, 11 handballs
From the coach:
Soph ran all day for us and consistently tried to get the ball out of congestion and into space. Her ability to spot a player and get it to her teammates' advantage continues to be a strength of her game.

Tilly Lucas-Rodd
Stats:
11 disposals, 3 tackles
From the coach:
A very mature game from Tilly today, as she was able to play a number of roles for us. One of her better performances of the year, she set up well defensively and continued to push forward when needed. Tilly has been a consistent performer in the VFLW this season.

Breann Moody
Stats: 8 disposals, 2 tackles
From the coach:
Breann had a good game today. She was really influential in the ruck and worked well through the midfield. After a quiet last game, it was good to see her make an impact on this match. We look forward to Bre continuing her good form as the season progresses.
