CIARAN Byrne will make his return from injury for the Northern Blues on Saturday.

Byrne will play his first game in nearly three months, with a quad injury keeping him out of action since early April.

The dashing defender is one of seven inclusions to an extended Bertocchi 23, with Patrick Kerr also returning. He missed last week due to a hip injury.

Cameron O’Shea will play in the VFL, named at centre-half-back, while Northern Knight Joel Naylor returns as 23rd man.

Northern youngsters Jordan Johnston, Jordan Lynch and Jean-Luc Velissaris round out the inclusions, named on an extended bench.

Nick Graham, Andrew Phillips and Jarrod Pickett come out of last week’s winning side through AFL selection.

Tom De Koning (leg), Kym Lebois (leg) and Angus Schumacher (groin) are out due to injury.
